Faisal Gill is the musicologist at Civitas. He uses music as a tool to help improve coordination, listening skills, recollection and memory, and has the added advantage of having worked with multiple age groups.
Civitas introduces sound and musical instruments at an early age to fully utilize the benefits of music. Experimenting with instruments and learning to play music directly impacts children's cognitive development. Studies have shown that children exposed to a variety of sounds and pitches have a higher IQ level and attention span. Auditory reinforcements enhance concentration and imagination. In order to capitalize on this, Faisal begins with familiarizing children to recognize and distinguish different kinds of sounds. From there, he works with patterns and sequences to help improve their memory and concentration.
